On Friday night the 6th of October Team6 Game Studios B.V. won the official Dutch Game Award for ‘Best Economic Achievement 2017’.
“We are very pleased that the jury has acknowledged our achievement and has therefore given us this wonderful award,” states Ronnie Nelis, CEO and founder of Team6 Game Studios. “You’re up against world-class titles that have also performed very well, therefore it is really great that we have received the award for Best Economic Achievement 2017!”
The Dutch Game Awards this year featured a number of major titles, including “Horizon Zero Dawn”, with a $ 47 million development budget, and the innovative Arizona Sunshine VR title. The other two nominees for Best Economic Achievement were the well-known “Suicide Squad” and “Appie Aandeel” from Albert Heijn.
Monster Jam®: Crush It! won the Dutch Game Award because the right strategic decisions were made to achieve optimal returns. Just with only the physical sales, the game already reached full return on investment within one day. Nelis especially wishes to thank his partners and fans: “Without them we wouldn’t have made it this far and we wouldn’t have received this honorable award.”
Dutch Game Awards
The Dutch Game Awards are the official prizes for the Dutch game industry, which can be compared to the Golden Calves which are awarded to the Dutch film industry. Every year, new video games from Dutch developers are highlighted. This year, the organization celebrated its 10th anniversary. To celebrate this the ceremony took place as a kick-off for First Look Festival: the biggest gaming and pop culture event in the Benelux Union.
